WELCOME, PARENTS!
Is Your Child a GITC Kid?
Guitars in the Classroom trains teachers to lead songs, class music-making
and songwriting for learning every subject. If your child has been participating in a GITC classroom, they may be singing, composing lyrics & strumming ukuleles or guitars as a part of lessons & activities throughout the school day. This summer, we're up to something new! |
Students who have already been participating in a GITC Classroom are invited to
find a ukulele or a shaker egg and join Mr. Jay, our beloved teaching artist from San Diego
for a GITC Fun Music Time each week to sing and play along!
Classes begin on June 16th and run on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Parents may register below.
If your child does not have a ukulele to play and you would like to purchase one,
we recommend calling your local music store to see what they have for sale.
We can attest to the quality of Kala Brand ukuleles, Tanglewood ukuleles and Cordoba Ukuleles!
If no local music store exists, we recommend shopping at a reputable online music store such as
Musician's Friend, Sam Ash Music or Sweetwater Music

We believe every student has the right to enjoy making music. But not every school can provide this opportunity. So we help interested school districts expand their musical programs and professional development opportunities when they demonstrate a commitment to Music Education. We hope you will let them know.
We also offer free online training to enthusiastic teachers everywhere. You can spread the word and share our website and email with your children's teachers.
Any parent can advocate by letting teachers and administrators know about GITC .
You can also reach out to our staff and ask for our support telling your local school leaders about GITC. Please write to us at [email protected].
Everything we do is provided at no charge and is funded by charitable donations and grants. We hope you will help us reach more students with the precious gift of music when you share our info and contribute.
