Stephen A. Tedeschi
May 30, 1959- January 6, 2022
Steve was a devoted family man, an animal lover and a self-taught, gifted guitarist who introduced his younger sister Laura to the beauty and power of music and shared this passion with her throughout their lives. He is remembered by his family with great love.
We also lovingly remember

Frank Larry
Frank Larry composed wonderful songs and managed and produced other artists in partnership with his amazing wife, Karen, in Nashville. Together, the two were a force for goo. Music was their "other" career as each held down big jobs. When Larry passed away unexpectedly, Karen invited our students from Clay, West Virginia to come to his memorial in TN to play his music for the family. This was a life-changing event for the students. As Larry was originally from a mining community in WV, their performance at the service led by GITC faculty trainer, Tracy Wayne, felt just right. Fortunately, Karen continues to carry on and shine her beautiful light today!

Christa Beran (1936-2022) loved music. She collected and played multiple instruments including African percussion, many of which have been generously donated to our programs this month by her loving family and her dear friend, Lucinda Rubio-Barrick.  Raised & educated Europe,  Christa eventually moved to San Diego where she enjoyed volunteering in several capacities, including with students at the Polinsky Children's Center.  A generous soul, she is remembered for her joyful spirit and sense of humor.

Jim Sullivan is our very first bequest donor through our Guitar Legacy Program helping collectors plan for the future of their guitars. He became a good friend during the time we spent with him cataloging and learning about his beautiful collection. He was a gentle soul, a hearfelt guitarist, and wonderful family man and community member. He will always be remembered. Several of his guitars are already in the hands of teachers and students!

Luthier, Robert Hein
Robert was a very active GITC volunteers with us in San Diego! He handbuilt beautiful flamenco guitars and one of a kind ukes in his garage lutherie workshop, and repaired dozens upon dozens of student ukes for our programs in local schools. We miss him greatly, and send love to his family.
