So Cal Teachers & Friends- Join Us in Julian Oct 9-11th!

For the first time since 2019, GITC is going back to Camp! Join us for a weekend of music, workshops, and fun in the beautiful Julian mountains! It’s been seven years since the last retreat, but things have finally aligned to make this event possible again.

For those who joined us in past years, you know how special these gatherings are. It’s an opportunity to reflect, relax, recharge, and deepen your GITC learning among friends. We’re still in the planning process, but have locked in dates with Camp Cedar Glen, who hosted the retreat 2016-2019.

Expect community led workshops, song swaps, and music crafts, as well as opportunities to explore the camp’s six miles of private trails and wolf sanctuary. The camp has undergone improvements and we’re excited to see the changes.

Past events have included sessions on vocal and instrumental skills, music leadership, lesson planning, bluegrass instrument petting zoo, electric guitar, DIY percussion instruments, and personal songwriting. Workshop topics and activities will be based on interest, so we want to hear from YOU! Let us know you’ll be coming and tell us what you want to see at the event with this interest form!

Tentative Schedule:

• Fri, 10/9 - Settle In, Dinner // Campfire Song Circle
• Sat, 10/10 - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner // Daytime Workshops, Evening Open Mic
• Sun, 10/11 - Breakfast // Workshops, Closing circle

Lodging:
Onsite lodging is included in comfortable group cabins with meals prepared by the Cedar Glen kitchen. Vegan and Gluten Free options available for a small fee.

Cost:
Full Weekend Registration is $250 per person. Saturday day-rate available, details TBA. These rates are as low as we can make them to keep camp affordable and still cover the facility fees and the GITC staff time.
