Jessica Baron, M.A., Founder & Executive Director
Jessica Anne Baron (formerly Jessica Baron Turner) is the Founder and Executive Director of Guitars in the Classroom. A lifelong acoustic guitarist, singer-songwriter, and veteran music educator and child development specialist, Ms. Baron holds advanced degrees in Child Development and Clinical Psychology with an emphasis on counseling children and families. She has co-authored the highly successful MusicMakers Program for the Boys and Girls Clubs of America as well as the Make an Impression Guitar Program for the International House of Blues Foundation and she is the author of six successful books in the field of music instruction and education. Her passion for nurturing creativity and musicality in others has shaped all of her work her 2004 parenting book, YOUR MUSICAL CHILD: Inspiring Kids to Play and Sing for Keeps, a volume to help parents promote childhood musicality as part of living a well-rounded, balanced life. Ms. Baron lives in the San Diego area with her son, three birds, two lizards, and one very cute shih tzu named Homer.
