I am writing to you from Watertown, Massachusetts just a stone’s throw away from Cambridge where GITC is preparing to launch our first full-on Boston training with a one week intensive for teachers. Each morning we will hold a class for teachers with little or no musical experience and in the afternoons we will hold a class for people who already play some guitar and who want to use the instrument and music to teach lessons and build classroom community. Joan Maute, GITC trainer from Hilton Head Island, South Carolina will join me to create this first of its kind one week summer immersion program. We are looking forward to welcoming an exceptionally diverse group to GITC including Harvard professors, local charter school teachers, and early learning educators, too. We have just one spot open for the mornings and 3 spots open for the afternoons. If you would like more information, please write to me at firstname.lastname@example.org. The classes meet from Aug. 13- 17 at Passim School of Music, 26 Church St. on Harvard Square. Let’s keep the music alive in our schools this coming school year while supporting teachers to be their most creative and adventurous selves!
